Dr. Elias completed his BA in Chemistry at Reed College in 2009 (thesis advisor: Maggie Geselbracht) and his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016 (thesis advisor: Yang Shao-Horn). After graduating, Dr. Elias was a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University, where he studied electrochemical conversions for sustainable practices with Daniel G. Nocera.
Dr. Elias joined the faculty at Simmons University in 2022, and his research interests include developing novel inorganic materials for their application as catalysts for electrochemical reactions related to sustainability and clean energy. When he is not in the lab or teaching, Dr. Elias enjoys baking bread, cooking, and going on adventures with his poodle, Millie. He is from Philadelphia, and lives in Somerville, MA.
